Tyranny Of Dragons
DW Human Fighter
A nameless boy escaped an orphanage early in life leaving for the freedom of the streets. Stealing the only item he had from his birth parents, a small bronze orb covered in runes, in his flight from the jail his childhood had become.
After failing to find his way on the streets in the middle of a biting winter. He was taken in by a pair of svirfneblin. These gnomes had escaped the horrid tunnels of the Underdark arriving as refugees to the sewers of the town. He came to love and respect these new guiding figures in his life, though the conditions were cramped and more suited to the gnomes he took on the name given to him ‘Farrick Wargrim’.
Wargrim was taught the ways of the survival from his adopted parents, taking what he needed but never if the being was more in need than himself. In turn he found ways to train in a wide range of skills from the downtrodden of Baldur’s Gate and those that had escaped the horrors of the Underdark, if they could put up with his incessant questioning.
Farrick quickly outgrew the accommodation of the gnomes, though he enjoyed being in the tight living quarters. His skills in fighting drew the attention of his father and lead to his first job, escorting goods on a caravan filled with items his father had been procuring.
On returning from his first successful adventure, Wargrim returned excitedly to his parents home only to be confronted by cloaked figures wearing grey masks. The group attacked his parents at the sight of this new threat. Though Wargrim’s training allowed him to defend himself, his adopted parents were mortally wounded in the fighting.
On his deathbed, his father confessed that he had become involved with a group called the Cult of the Dragon. They paid him to smuggle goods across the Sword Coast. Wracked by guilt, he begged ‘his SON’ to investigate the cult and undo the evil he may have helped foster. He urged him to begin his search in a town called Greenest. Farrick took the one item that would remind him of his parents. his mother’s brass ring simply enchanted to never tarnish and left the sewers behind him.
Wargrim swore vengeance on this cult and to prove himself worthy of escaping the horrors of the downtrodden. He has been travelling since finding his way south from town to town, following his father’s last dying wish.
